The Mini Cheer Clinic hosted by the cheer team was a huge success, bringing nearly 100 young Tigers together for a week full of spirit, learning, and fun. For three days, the mini cheerleaders practiced cheers, dances, and skills before taking the field for their big halftime performance on October 17 at Loftin Stadium.
Head Coach Gabriela Andrada said the clinic went even better than expected, with incredible energy from both the high school cheerleaders and the minis.
Throughout the clinic, participants learned two cheers, “Power” and “Color Shout”. They also learned a dance routine with stunts that showcased everything they had practiced. Throughout the week, they participated in a stunting clinic, jump clinic, and motion class, plus they played fun games each day which kept the minis excited and engaged.
When halftime came, the big cheerleaders proudly walked out with the minis, dancing beside them under the stadium lights. The field was filled with smiles, laughter, and pure Tiger spirit as the young cheerleaders performed with confidence.
“Parents loved it. They said it was organized, fun, and their kids can’t wait for next year,” Andrada said. “It was amazing to see how the older girls supported the minis and made them feel special.”
Andrada shared that the high school cheerleaders shined as leaders and role models, showing patience, responsibility, and heart throughout the event.
“It was bigger and smoother than last year. We built on what we had learned and made it more engaging. It brings everyone together and reminds the town what Tiger pride is all about,” Andrada said. “Our team worked together and showed real heart from start to finish.”
The clinic brought families and the community together, celebrating what the cheer team is all about– spirit, teamwork, and pride.
